Greenlee Site Report   Currently re-named "Champagne Springs Site"

(Consists of ten chapters)

Members of the Hisatsinom Chapter initiated work at the Greenlee Site (
currently re-named "Champagne Springs Site") archaeological group in May 2004 following a successful assessment grant application to the State Historical Fund, a program of the Colorado Historical Society. The study was designed to evaluate site significance from the perspectives of size, function and temporal placement.  The results of this work show the site was occupied largely within the 10th century with a probable overlap into both the late 9th century and early 1000s.

  Larson Survey Report

The Hisatsinom Chapter undertook an archaeological surface survey of a 360-acre private property tract in Montezuma County, Colorado, during 2008 and 2009. Thirty-seven prehistoric sites were found with artifacts and features inventoried and recorded with the Colorado Historical Society office. This survey is a demonstration of how a private landowner interested in preservation of his property can work with avocational archaeologists to record and help preserve sites for future generations.  This was published in the Southwestern Lore Journal in 2010.
